The Kindergarten through forth grade Social Studies programs focus on communities. Classes explore how communities are formed and operate and how to be a viable and productive member of local, regional, National, and World Wide communities. The elementary grades also begin to explore American history as well as New Jersey history through research, art projects, dance, song as well as hands on experience with artifacts. The elementary grades also begin to explore the five themes of Geography; Location, Place, Human-Environmental Interaction, Movement, and Region.

The Middle School Social Studies classes further explore the 5 Themes of Geography. They also study and research Ancient World History. American History is explored in depth during the seventh and eighth grades. A major emphasis is placed on Language Art Skills in the Social Studies classrooms. Students are expected to read and write about historical events, using the same strategies they learn in their Language Arts Classes.

The Social Studies team also stresses the school's Efficacy model. The Efficacy model focuses on instilling in students the confidence to show determination at learning challenging things, as well as to continue trying until they succeed.
